How to Make Animoji on an Iphone- Have you seen the great little caricatures of your friends that appear throughout your group conversations? This is known as Memoji.
These are fun little ways to express yourself deeper than words. Basically, animoji can be customized, and can take the form of recorded animations or simple stickers.
To make Animoji, you need compatible hardware. On the iPhone, that’s basically anything after the iPhone X (so iPhone X, XR, XS (and Max) and 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max), while only the latest 2018 iPad Pro offers this function – both 12.9 and 11 inch version.
This is because it relies on Face ID sensors and technology found on this device to be able to track facial expressions and behavior. If you have Face ID, you are happy to do it.
After that? The process is not only simple, but also very fun – it allows you to capture your own unique style to share with your friends. This is how to set up Memoji on your iPhone or iPad.

Open your Messages application, and navigate to the thread or start a new one. In the application toolbar below where you type messages (just above the keyboard), you will find many icons. To get started, tap the Animoji button – which says little monkey’s face.
2. Add Memoji
You will be faced with a stream of animal faces, but try not to be disturbed (as nice as they are).
You will see them imitating your face – smile! Swipe left of the animal’s face, and you will see an option for a new Memoji – with a large “Plus” button. Tap it to add a fresh face, and the fun begins.
3. Make Animoji
From here, you will be presented with many options. You can change your skin color, freckles and beauty spots on page one, and then there are choices for hair, head shape, facial hair and more.
Just tap on your options, and watch your Memoji begin to live before your eyes – even match your expression.
4. Customize Animoji

Don’t forget to go into the details of your Memoji – a tool for making much deeper than you think. For example, I use a black piercing – but the closest here is the silver one.
Luckily, you can tap on any color to adjust its brightness, so that it turns black.
5. Share Animoji
Press “Finish” in the top right corner, and hey presto – you have Memoji! Now you can record animation using your face just by pressing the red record button in the lower right corner. When finished, you can send it to your friends, or delete it and try again.
6. Make Animoji Stickers
That’s not what you can do now. If you go to the regular Emoji keyboard, you will find a Memoji sticker on the left.
This is not animated, but offers some unique expressions – see how funny “mind burst” looks. If you press the “…” button, you will find more to send.

Finally, there is one more fun trick you can do with your Memoji. If you make a FaceTime call via video, press “effect” and choose your Memoji to use the digital you like mask.
It will track your movements and expressions too, and although it is a little annoying at first because of its large size, it is also good for fun. Hopefully helpful, and thank you.
